Overview

Mardi Himal Trek: A Serene Escape in the Annapurna Region

The Mardi Himal Trek stands as a hidden treasure in Nepal’s Annapurna region, providing trekkers with a tranquil alternative to popular routes like the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) and Everest Base Camp (EBC).

Gaining traction among adventure seekers, this trek showcases stunning landscapes, sweeping mountain views, and rich cultural interactions. Lasting between 5 to 7 days, with optional extensions, the trek culminates at Mardi Himal Base Camp, perched at 4,500 meters (14,764 feet). Rated as moderate, it suits those with decent fitness levels despite some steep climbs and descents.

The adventure typically begins in Kande or Phedi, both easily reachable from Pokhara—a scenic lakeside city that serves as a gateway to the Annapurna region. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are ideal seasons for this trek, offering stable weather and clear skies for remarkable Himalayan views.

Your journey commences with an impressive 7-8 hour drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city and the starting point for many Annapurna treks. Enjoy picturesque views of rivers, terraced fields, and villages along the way. Upon reaching Pokhara, take time to explore, stroll around Phewa Lake, or relax before your trek begins.

Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Kande, Trek to Deurali (2,100m)

The trek commences with a gradual ascent through forests and small settlements, revealing breathtaking views of the Annapurna Mountain Range. After several hours of trekking, you will arrive in Deurali (2,100m), a tranquil village with stunning panoramic views.

Day 4: Trek from Deurali to Low Camp (2,970m)

Today’s trek continues with a gradual climb through dense rhododendron forests, offering glimpses of the snow-capped peaks. High Camp offers a cluster of teahouses with spectacular mountain vistas.
