Overview

Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) is a highly sought-after trekking destination in Nepal, located at an elevation of approximately 4,130 meters (13,550 feet) within the Annapurna mountain range. The trek is famous for its stunning vistas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges and diverse landscapes, ranging from lush forests and terraced fields to alpine meadows and arid high-altitude regions.

Typically, the trek lasts between 7 to 12 days, starting from the scenic city of Pokhara, known for its beautiful lakes and vibrant culture. Trekkers traverse through charming villages like Nayapul, Ghorepani, and Tadapani, immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage of the Gurung and Magar communities.

The prime trekking seasons are pre-monsoon (March to May) and post-monsoon (September to November), characterized by clear weather and moderate temperatures. Trekking can be done independently or with a guide and porters, and preparation for altitude sickness and varying weather is crucial.
